Research Interests

We are primarily interested in developing statistical methods and analytical tools to decode genomic data and dissect field performances. As both genomic and phenotypic data get BIG, it became one of our interests to achieve a High Performance Computation (HPC) through both software and hardware innovation. With the same scale of data, we are always interested in pursuing the highest statistical power and prediction accuracy.

To face the changing environments, we are fully considering the benefits and challenge of exploring the interaction between genetic and environmental factors. One of our efforts is to plant the same germplasm across multiple countries through international collaborations (e.g. USA and China).

We like to see the differences that our methods and tools bring to our community. We also like to see that happens among ourselves. We enhance our research with live experiences across multiple species, including maize, rice, soybean, humans, dog and chicken.
