Ph.D. Candidate - Meijing Liang

My name is Meijing Liang, and I’m a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in Crop Science at Washington State University. I come from a small town in northeastern China and am proud to be the first in my family to attend college. I earned my B.S. and M.S. in Animal Genetics and Breeding from Northeast Agricultural University in Harbin. Before beginning my Ph.D., I spent three years at WSU as a visiting scholar working on alfalfa breeding, which sparked my deep interest in plant science. My current research integrates remote sensing, statistical modeling, and deep learning to improve crop prediction and agricultural efficiency. With the rapid advancement of AI, I believe this work has great potential to reduce costs and increase yields in agriculture.
