Ph.D. - Yang Hu

Yang Hu received her Ph.D. in Computer Science at Washington State University in 2019. She is currently a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Crop and Soil Science at Washington State University. Yang's primary research focuses are applying Machine Learning algorithms to recognize crop fields from Satellite images. She is currently investigating how to train a machine learning model to generate boundaries of agricultural crop fields. She got her B.S. in Applied Chemistry at Shenzhen University, M.S. in Polymer Physics and Chemistry at South China University of Technology, M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Washington State University. Her Ph.D. dissertation is to build Artificial Intelligent Tutoring Systems for formal and informal educational purposes. To train an AI teacher she is investigating how to train an AI teacher using Reinforcement Learning to teach another AI student to complete a complicated task.
